This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Weather seems to have taken a really warm turn and we are having an Indian summer, which is lovely. But we are inundated with wasps, which isn't so nice.
Another meeting at work today so will see if they reject our offer and bulldoze ahead, we fully expect that so it will be a total surprise if they have listened to some sense
I am thinking calm thoughts and trying not to get stressed, let's see how long that lasts
Need to raid the freezer before I leave for work and see what lucky dip we can have for dinner. Am hoping there is some nice chunky, meaty sausages in there so we can have Nigel Slater's sausage meat ball recipe.
Well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for anyone who needs or just wants them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning All
It's really warm here but still damp!! Lit the fire for an hour last night but certainly don't need any form of heating on this morning.
DW and WM on. Had a bit of a baking frenzy last night, DD made millies and I made 2 banana bread and 2 lemon drizzle - they will go towards the Macmillan coffee morning at school tomorrow (can't have it Friday as we are off, it's a holiday weekend). May make something else tonight.
Managed to get the grass cut yesterday even though it was quite wet, hopefully it will dry out a bit and I can cut it again soon. Had to have the blade quite high as it was so long.
Tea last night was lo chicken, leek and ham pie that I made on Sunday, it would really have done DD and I for another meal but we didn't have potatoes, just veg, so managed to finish it off! Will definitely make it again some time. Also made a vat of lentil soup for the cold weather (it's probably too warm for soup at the moment), most of that is bagged up and in the freezer. DD is not very good at bringing home her packed lunch boxes so it had to go in bags.
Not sure what's for tea tonight, will have a think while I'm at work.
Hope you are all well, hugs to those in need. Take care. XX0 -
Morning chums, quiz night tonight which I really enjoy. I got my washing line dried yesterday so will iron it this morning and even put it away
:) (hate that job)Coffee morning this morning at U3A which is nice for a knit and natter.
Looking out of the window at the moment its quite foggy and misty but not cold.Hopefully it will burn off as it did yesterday and brighten up a bit.Hope everyone has a good day ,must fly as I have to run DD to work this morning as her car is still off the road.
Cheers chums JackieO xxx0 -
Hi all,
Back to work today :-( it's a late shift too (same as every Tuesday) so I don't finish until 8pm. Funeral went very well yesterday, the man who conducted the service was really good. Weather was hot here yesterday, well into the 20's. Didn't help my headache at all :-( hope it's a bit cooler today.
Hope everyone has a good day!the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
It's shaping up to be a really nice day here again. I managed to get a little more sleep than yesterday so I feel relatively normal again.
Hubby packed off to work and DD's are getting themselves organised for school so it's all go here.
I'm going to have a go at some chinese chicken in the slow cooker today, I love experimenting on the family :rotfl::rotfl:Hopefully it will turn out ok and I'll make some egg-fried rice to go with it. I'm going to be having some chicken breast with a basil and tomato sauce and some microwave new potatoes courtesy of the reduced shelf in tescos. I have my first weigh-in at weightwatchers tomorrow so I'm quite nervous. I've found it really difficult to get back into the swing of things but I'm going to perservere in the hope it all just 'clicks'.
This morning, I am going to be wrapping up some christmas presents and then clearing the dining room of all it's related gibble until it's clean and tidy in here again. If I'm up to it I will tackle the bathroom too with my super-duper steam cleaner. Eldest DD is coming over for a coffee and to take our dog for a walk so I need to crack on really.
Take care and as always, gentle hugs to all who want one.
Cheers m'dears x0 -
Morning all

Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Foggy but dry here this morning. Seems really warm here too, haven't had my heating on but the temperature is 21 degrees inside the house! Will put a load in WM before I leave for work so it can go out later.
DH up and getting ready to go to work but not early.
Dinner last night was an easy fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg. Tonight we will be having the LO roast lamb cooked in a pot of gravy with sliced potatoes on the top with LO veg etc.
Work was really quiet to start off with yesterday then went manic for a while then slowed down again but was steady. Will see what today brings.
Keep safe and well x

Good Morning,
Dumpling - Can't believe you have xmas presents to wrap already!!
Very misty here this morning but I hope it will burn off and that we will have some lovely sunshine like yesterday.
I must do some housework today, I seem to have spent the last couple of days playing at making elderberry stuff and freezing plums! I have very unattractive dirty looking nails now!
Have to pop to the GP this morning and then motivation is needed to clean!
Have a good day all.0 -
Morning all,
another grey morning here but it was dry all day yesterday so I've got the towels in the WM. I've got a bit of ironing to finish - I ran out of steam after an hour yesterday
I think it's time to make cake today as we've worked through the collection of sweet stuff in the cupboard & freezer. I'm getting used to a "half empty" cupboard ie one that has space so you can see & find things rather than crammed full of goodness knows what. I'm enjoying the luxury of time to think and plan.
Have a great day xI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
