SIXTY-PLUS ESAVE will launch w.e.f. 14.6.07: a no notice internet operated account for those over the age of 60 with a minimum investment of £1 paying 6.20% yearly (6.00% monthly). Rate fixed to 31.3.08 then annual gross rate guaranteed to equal Bank of England Base Rate....
Fixed rate for 9 months so if there is another interest rate rise then Northern Rock Silver saver currently 6.1% may leapfrog it but good for now and good if rates start dropping again before next March!
