Do you see the sidebar on the left side of the screen? If not, click on the VIEW menu and select the SHOW SIDEBAR menu item so that you can see the classic look of iTunes. The sidebar, for some strange apple reason, is switched off by default. From there, click on the MUSIC LIBRARY and then on SONGS for example.0

You want to load 'your music' - from where?
An iPod? CDs? An mp3 library? An iTunes library on an old laptop?0 -
It won't wipe anything as long as you turn off auto-synch first. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I have similar problem.
Got eg. 12 albums imported from cd on my iphone.
None of them show up in my music library, only purchases show up there. So I took a backup to Cloud and to laptop. I then imported another CD and it shows in my music library. But the original 12 still don't? They're all still on my phone and all still play.
Edit: Actually, if you google key problem words, there about a billion other folk with similar problems and Apple deny all knowledge. Which is a shock.0 -
Syncing to your iPod or iPhone is ONE WAY - TO the iDevice. It does not go from iDevice to computer.
Suzysnowball and albionrovers - you both need to copy your iTunes libaries from your old computers (it's not clear albionrovers what computer those 12 albums came from) onto your new one. You'll find a folder called 'iTunes' inside 'My Music' or 'Music' - copy the iTunes folder from this location on the old computer to the same location on the new one.0 -
Thank you everyone but The problem is the old computer died so cant get anything off it0

Doesn't necessarily mean that the hard drive (where I assume your music is) is dead. Have you tried taking the HD out, putting it in a USB caddy, and hooking it up to the new machine?0 -

The laptop is in bits so definitely not accessible - I did have this problem before and put a lot of the music on a portable hard drive so just putting some back on. Thank you
The other problem I have is that books and films that were bought throu I tunes I thought wouldautomatically be there but no -don't know how to get them back either - why is iTunes so compliated to me :mad:0 -
