SIXTY-PLUS ESAVE will launch w.e.f. 14.6.07: a no notice internet operated account for those over the age of 60 with a minimum investment of £1 paying 6.20% yearly (6.00% monthly). Rate fixed to 31.3.08 then annual gross rate guaranteed to equal Bank of England Base Rate

AER is 6.03% (still pretty good) because rate falls on 1 April 2008 to the then current base rate (assumed to be 5.5% in the AER calculation).
And remember that the Coventry also has a Sixty Plus Saver (2) account which pays 6.25% (falling by 0.75% after one year) to which you can contribute up to £2K/month.0
