Ive just had a little card offering me a free box that will wirelessly connect to my broadband so that I can use the On Demand facility of sky.
Now, I admit Im a techno thicko but as we already have a Smart TV and can view missed programs on there - do I need this new box? Is On Demand something different to what the smart tv already give us please? I mean does it allow us to get films from sky on demand? Thanks

It means you can also get Sky channels on demand, including movies if you already subscribe, but also you can pay per movie for download. If the connector is free, you have nothing to lose really. More details on Sky website:-

Is the 'free' box going to cost you around £30 a month?
If you do go for it, check out the cashback sites. You may be able to get your 'free' box and 50 quid back as well.0 -
We already have a subscription with sky for the entertainment package (not movies or sport) and we also have a smart tv which connects to our wireless broadband and we can use for catch up tv. The only thing we dont have is a film subscription now - we used to have Lovefilm but swopped the cost over to a sky sub as we enjoy documentaries, geographical and history programmes. If we can get movies on a pay as you go it will be worth having.
Thanks

Must have changed it as before I received mine I used to connect my box to my router with a cable and download what I wanted to watch, it wasn't practical to keep the box connected via the cable all the time as the router is in another room so just did it when there was a film or programme i wanted to download:beer:0
