in Credit cards
Ok here goes....
Had an interest free balance with Barclaycard which has come to an end, Husband and I both applied for Halifax Balance Transfer cards to clear the balance with Barclaycard.
In my sleep deprived state (3 week old newborn) I gave Halifax our Tesco Credit Card details but did not realise until Barclaycard were shouting about a missed payment, still thinking the balance transfers were 'in transit' we were just about to ring Halifax and ask what the delay was when Tesco credit card statement arrived with a huge credit balance!!!
So, many phone calls later and Tesco have sent the money back to the Halifax and Barclaycard are going to 'consider' waving the interest I have incurred due to us paying the wrong card - which is good of them I thought BUT my biggest problem is that Halifax are saying we have to pay 2 x 3% Handling fees and that is the end of that. So both husband and I have to pay 2 x 3% handling fees even though the money left the Halifax and was returned in full one week later from Tesco. We have just transferred the money to Barclaycard but are feeling frustrated with Halifax.
I know this is completely my fault but does anyone think I stand a chance appealing to their better nature? Or do they just not have one?

You could grovel and try. Yoy may get lucky if you get a sympathetic agent, but they may well say no.
On the bright side, presumably you will still be better off, even after two fees.0
