Damaged bathroom cabinet

Hi
Im hoping for a bit of advice.
Back at the beginning of the year, we would some bathroom furniture from an online retailer for a small en-suite we created in a garage conversion.
The small sink and cabinet underneath it were sold as a combo and designed to go together. The top of the cabinet (which the sink sits on) is made of MDF and, although covered in a laminate, has blown apart on the front edge.
The cabinet was originally supplied with both black and white tops so its possible for a "user" to choose.
Having had experience of this particular supplier before, I fully expect them to say that spares arent available.
So two questions
1. If I try on the warranty, Im sure they will say that it has got wet and that has caused it. Although its a sink cupboard (so may well have got wet) my daughter swears that she always wiped up anything. Do I have any come back on this given that it should survive a little water?
2. If I dont get anywhere with this, is there anyway I can oblige them to supply me with a spare? Short of naming and shaming if they dont provide good customer service, I dont know what else I can do.
Thanks
Tim

If its made of mdf chances are a replacement will do the same. The only other choices are. Trading standards or small claims which prob not worth the effort. Don't forget if it was over £100 and paid on credit card section 75 gives some protection.0
