Personally I'm only interested in the Aldi super 6 offers as that is where I do most of my shopping so will stick to that thread as I don't want to wide through a load of offers in other supermarkets that I'm not interested in.

Same as I like the Lidl half price weekend meat offer threads, I don't have the time or inclination to read a load of posts on meat offers in Tesco and Asda as I don't shop there.

  • I've found the ethnic shops that sell fruit and veg in the £1 bowls much better value. Today for £1 each I got:

    2.5kg bag of white spuds
    5 mixed peppers
    6 peaches
    8 large carrots
5 large tomatoes on the vine
    mushrooms

The only item that would possibly have been cheaper in the supermarket was the carrots.
  • I agree with the previous replier our local Turkish shop is much cheaper than the big supermarkets. Usually 5 lemons for a £1 or 25p a lemon individually. Carrots, onions cheaper than Sainsburys and I even buy my liver and chicken which works out cheaper. The food turns over very quickly so it is fresh and they too have their own butcher. So don't overlook your local ethnic greengrocers.

I've recorded my last 3 fruit and veg shops to work out the prices… :S

Haven't got any mind blowing information yet as I've only tried Tesco, Lidl, and Aldi.

Celery at 40p from Tesco seems decent, apples at tesco were on offer so 12 for £2, cucumbers at Lidl and Aldi are 45p, red cabbage at Aldi 69p, and they have blueberries at 1.59 a box and larger romaine lettuce at almost 45p each.

Actually I got a 5kg bag of carrots for 2.50 from Tesco, a lot more than I planned to get but so far I'm getting through them pretty good on a 5 day juicing plan, though I expect to have a load left over which I'll use day 6 onwards if they're still ok.
