Will my credit score improve from 221?

Hi there

I have a credit score of 221 (very poor!), and have been told the reasons why.

Firstly is a CCJ and second is a '6 Payments Late' default of £154 on a current account overdraft.

I have been told my CCJ will disappear on November 23rd as its been 6 years, and I have just paid off the £154, and the current account is now back to credit.

My question is - when the CCJ disappears and when the bank updates that I have cleared the £154 balance, how much will this help my credit score?

I know a CCJ is a major drag on a credit score, so do you think it will push by score from Very Poor to Poor or beyond, or will it not change much?

I need it to get to Poor or beyond!

Many thanks! :p

  • Your file will look better without a CCJ on it.

Whether it changes your score at all is neither here nor there as it's just a made up number.

It doesn't matter as you dont have a credit score - it is pretty much a made up number.

The CCJ will disappear in late November irrespective of whether you pay it off and after this lenders will look at you slightly more favourably (since you still have a default) and your future applications will be scored as such.
