Parking Ticket From SIP
HeyAlfie
Can anyone help please?
My daughter was issued with a PCN in June, whilst driving my husbands car, she had a valid parking ticket on view which ran out at 15.29. she returned to the car at 15.35 whilst the person was writing the pcn. He said the ticket had run out and his manager had told him you are allowed no time to return. This was at the Slug and Lettuce in Didsbury and since then we know several people who have also had tickets. The management of the Slug and Lettuce said there was nothing they could do.
We then read the Martin Lewis advice and decided we would be MILITANT, ignore was our motto. Since then we have receive one letter titled NOTICE TO OWNER and one letter titled FINAL NOTICE.
The final has said if we do not pay immediately they will commence County Court proceedings. After 14 days they are going to pass the matter to Morgan Knightley and Co to commence legal proceedings.
Has anyone else had dealings with SIP and will they commence legal proceedings ?
Should we hold out and be militant ?
Help !!!
Thank you

Stop illegal parking are a small time bunch
Do nothing, let us know when you get any further letters from Morgan Knightley and CoProud to be a member of the Anti Enforcement Hobbyist Gang.:D:T0 -
Not militant, but misinformed. Things have changed since last October and ignore is not the best advice.
Can you clear up one thing? Is this a private car park notice or a Penalty Charge Notice? Please check and tell us. There is a difference in treatment and tactics.0 -
His manager, so some pot washer from the pub.
Did he put his name on this fake ticket and what do you think the chances of him turning up to a county court for questioning are ?
Nil most likely.
There would be enough reasonable doubt in the timings of his watch for six minutes.Be happy...;)0 -
It is a Parking Charge Notice0

Should not have ignored it; should have appealed and won at POPLA by now. You read a REALLY OLD Article by Martin Lewis...what a shame you never looked at the forum first few pages and just read a few threads about appeals & POPLA right here where you are now.
Email the CEO of the Slug & Lettuce nationally and COMPLAIN more assertively than before. Get really angry about this scam and ask that the ticket is cancelled if they want your family to ever choose to eat at a Slug & Lettuce again.
Ignore letters from debt collectors (only take seriously a 'Letter before Claim' from SIP or Solicitor - NOT a version from a debt collector!).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I am involved in a case relating to the same car park https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4784029
I haven't managed to identify who owns the car park but it doesn't appear to be slug & lettuce or any of the other businesses whose patrons use the car park .0 -

In my experience they threaten that but don't do it - it is one of the names they trade by0 -
I've just got a Money Claim Online for parking at the slug and lettuce car park in may 2012. I responded by saying I was not the driver and under no legal obligation to disclose the drivers details, which was the position at the time. The legal obligation fell on the keeper of the vehicle as of 1st October 2012. The court claim (19 months after alleged offence) states I am responsible as keeper. Does anyone know if the new obligation on the keeper applies retrospectively to tickets issued prior to 1st October last year?0

No it doesn't. They are stuffed but you have to defend this properly.
