Fraud & Default spotted on credit report

After all this time I have finally had the default and all associated searches removed but still unable to get a mortgage. Mortgage company can't say why but it wouldn't even let them "appeal the decision". My credit rating is now back to almost perfect (missed a payment once on an account and once on another in the past 12 months) but otherwise spotless yet I'm not able to apply for credit. Anyone have any idea why this might be - I'm at a loss!

Many reasons why you weren't offered a mortgage. Try the mortgages board as the resident brokers may be able to offer some thoughts.

Agreed. This might be a case where actually applying via a decent mortgage broker is the way to go

Any missed payments in the last 12 months will have a big impact of a mortgage application.

What LTV are you going for?

Thanks for the update. So many people post once and are never heard from again. Good luck with your mortgage. :)

  • Apparently some information hadn't been amended but I've just updated my credit check and I am back at excellent with a score of 965 on experian so hopefully all sorted now. Have spoken with a mortgage advisor and had an agreement in principle so hopefully things are all going other right direction, thanks for all the help! :)
