DVLA Release of Info

I have a parking charge from parking eye which I'm ignoring. My question relates to the DVLA releasing my data without my approval. I understand they are obliged to release such data to the police and courts but I thought any organisation had to have consent before releasing personal data to a private company.
Is there a process whereby I can inform them not to release my data without my consent?
Any advice on the matter would be appreciated

Well answer a few questions please, and the dvla will release RK details to any parking company who are in the bpa aos for £2.50, they already have your consent for this when you registered your vehicle
1) did you get the notice to keeper within 14 days?
2) are you in England or Wales ?
3) are you over 18 ?
4) have you contacted parking eye at all?
5) how far along are you in this, for example a notice before claim?
6) have you made complaints to the retailer
7) who is the retailer or service provider?

Hi Stroma, Thanks for coming back to me an dplease see my responses in red.
I've not contacted PE at all, a lot of advice was to just ignore and they will eventualy give up as they have no legal right to charge.

Okay can you expand on 5 as I am not sure how far you have come on this, for example are you after the 28 days from notice to keeper? And how many times have they written to you?

Q5 Yes I;m past the 28 day point and I've had 2 letters. The initial parking charge notice and then the reminder.
Thanks0 -

Oh dear.
You've read OLD advice if you thought you should ignore it - and if you are past 28 days from receipt of the first Notice then you're too late to appeal.
Are you more than 28 days after receipt of the first Notice (PCN)?!
And what happened when you complained to the Manager of the Service Station then? Like all these people did successfully?

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks guys, looks like I'll have to pay my dues this time.
I'll wait and see what comes throught he letter box next.0 -
No it doesn't mean you should pay !
You need to wait to see if they send you a letter before claim, if they do come back here for advice on that. The charge cannot go up from where it is now unless they go to court and add costs, so you might as well wait.
They fail every time on their notice before claim, and you will only pay something if you settle or they win in court. A properly defended case is highly unlikely to go there as they will try and get you to settle firstWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. Whaaaaaat!!! No-one said to pay this scam!!!!!!!!
What happened when you complained to the Service Station Manager? DO IT!!!! I have collated half a dozen examples on this sticky thread of PE fake PCNSs cancelled by Welcome Break & similar in the last 6 weeks alone - some of them MONTHS after the parking event:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4766249
Please just come off your thread and read and learn from some other threads. The sticky threads are there to inform newbies like yourself, and so are any other PE threads from recent weeks. Let us know when the Welcome Break Manager (or the CEO if you have to escalate the complaint) cancel it.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
