Best branch only access account?

Hi all,
I'm looking to open a savings account that accepts direct payments to have my child benefit paid into.
I would ideally like it to be branch only access as I think that will help me keep the money in the account but I would like the option to make withdrawals if needed (with or without notice is fine).
Does anyone have a similar account or have ideas about what might be the best option to go for? It doesn't have to earn much interest but a little would be nice
Many thanks,
Laura

Try a savings account with a passbook from almost any building society. Very little interest, but easy access over the counter.0

If you only expect to make rare withdrawals then look out for an account with instant access for up to a set number of penalty-free withdrawals per year.
e.g. Britannia has a branch account paying 1.75% if no more than 4 withdrawals (including closure) occur within a calendar year. Interest rate plummets if additional withdrawals are made.0 -
I opened a Britannia 1.75% savings account yesterday.
They told me it was closing to new customers from 5pm today.
It will be replaced by another account - the lady speculated that it would be at 1.5%.
