How much would you consider 'Expensive' for a pair of trousers?

I am on the hunt for a nice pair of trousers. I'd rather buy quality clothes that last longer as opposed to cheap stuff that lasts a year (if that).

How much would you consider expensive for a pair of trousers? Where do you buy yours?

Personally I tend to buy about £90 trousers 2nd hand off ebay for less than £15 - often far less.

If it is for work trousers then I would want smart ones, made from a decent material for under £40.

  • IMO

    less than £20 = cheap
    £20-40 = average
    £40-60 = pricey
    £60+ = expensive

I like Debenhams if I'm going for average price, Monsoon for pricey going out ones - I don't ever buy expensive. Pointless with a small child smearing snot on them!

Marks and Spencer trousers fit me, so I stick with these. Leg length changes from shop to shop as much as chothes size as far as I'm concerned.

I wouldn't want to pay much more than £25.00
  • I won't pay more than £20 for work pants.

Always found Asda's seem OK to me.

  • I wouldn't pay more than £25 either, but I try and find a decent pair made from good quality material. I did try a pair from Primark and they didn't feel very nice to me, but it was an emergency and limited funds.
  • Expensive...£100?

  • Over £60. Almost regardless of fabric, cut, "label" etc.
I can look somewhat rumpled even in the most expensive trous...
  • £25 - £35 for smart days...
    £10 - £20 for normal days...
