Hi,
I am in the process of moving house and I have advised Scottish Power, who I am with, of my meter readings on the date of moving in (10 September).
However, I have just received a bill from EDF Energy to the "owner / occupier" for charges between 7/8-17/9 of £87.26 (these are based on estimated readings).
Should I advise EDF of the actual meter readings and state that I am not liable for the bill prior to 10/9 or should I ignore the letter and wait for Scottish Power to advise them?
Thanks in advance

You must contact EDF and advise them you are the new tenant and give your meter reading. It may take 6 weeks to change supplier (if you have asked SP) and you will be billed by EDF till then.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

You take the meter readings of the house you are moving into and immediately you give them to your energy supplier who [deemed contract] is EDF, not Scottish Power. Did you do that ?
If you did not do that get in touch with EDF immediately and give them your opening readings, again you are contracted to EDF not Scottish Power. Once you give those readings to EDF you can begin the process of changing supplier from EDF to Scottish Power if that's what you want to do.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
