I rang these guys up about 3 weeks ago asking for a travel insurance quote and I was given it and paid for it. 3 weeks later i've receieved no letter from them confirming this so I checked my bank statement and nothing has been taken. :mad: :mad: :mad:

have you made any attempt to contact them to find out why?
perhaps the payment was declined and they've tried to contact you by phone?
most companies would say 3-5 working days for receipt of docs. Why wait 3 weeks?

They usually give you a reference number over the phone dont they?

Spoke to them today, it turned out that the card did decline and they had the wrong telephone number so they couldnt contact me. I gave them my details again but the card declined so i called my bank and they told me it was because they didnt put my issue number in so i recalled back hastings direct and gave them my details again and it went through. So thankfully its now all sorted.

I'm glad that it got resolved for you, but I think it's a bit odd as payments done over the phone either go straight through or decline rightaway unless the payment system is temporarily down. I also think that it's odd that a decline letter wasn't sent you if they weren't able to contact you by phone. It should be standard procedure for this to be done.

The other day I had a letter from a client half complaining that she wasn't able to get through to our department and when we tried ringing her, it was constantly giving the engaged tone for a full day....which could mean their telephone number was changed... so a letter was sent straightaway informing that we were unable to contact her. I'm just surprised that a letter wasn't sent to you to inform you that the payment wasn't processed and thus you wouldnt have been covered....
