in Credit cards
Hi
This is regarding my mother who has an Opus credit card from when it used to be Citibank. She has had a Tesco credit card for well over a year now and despite calls and letters to cancel the Opus card, they still send a statement every month.
It says on it, credit limit of £1,250 and £0.25CR. I presume the fact that it has 25p credit possibly means something, though once you have rang them up and sent letters, what exactly can she do now?
It is rather frustrating every month to get the same rubbish for an account which shouldn't exist.
Any advice would be appreciated. Maybe someone higher up than the company themselves as obviously they are unable to fulfill this request, unless I can contact the CEO himself.

Phone them up and ask them to either write off the 25p or send a cheque.
The account can't be closed with any sort of a balance.0 -

Thanks, she will try it tomorrow. In the worse case scenario, what should she do next?0 -
Complain to FOS if they can't sort it out, but I doubt there will be any need.0

If she still has the card, just spend 25p and then close it.:Dmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
As above - the 25p is the problem.
Ask for a refund - then insist its closed again.0
