German Kitchens

I am looking to have a German Kitchen in our new kitchen extension. Has anyone used a company called Lieben Der Kuche (love your kitchen)? A company based inthe the North West. Saw it on the internet but I tend to use companies that have been personally recommended.

Are you based in the North West too?
I had a look at the website and they sell Hacker/Schuller and Nobilia and compare them to BMW/Audi. I am not sure about that.
Nobilia is a very very basic cheap cheerful kitchen comparable to the likes of Howdens. Hacker/Schuller offer a step up on their Classic and C1 ranges respectively offering bit better quality for a bit more money. Or you can have the Systemat or C2/C3 from Hacker and Schuller for a better quality product.
In essence, if you are buying German it pays to have a good look around and not buy Nobilia but instead look at a step up which gives you the essence of buying a good German product with a lot of attention to detail and flexibility. We’ve had to remove your signature. I'm also looking at a German kitchen - I am between the handleless Mereway Futura and Schuller C3. Given that our design is a two-colour tone (matt white for wall units and oak maroon for base units and tall storage units), I was told by the kitchen designer that I can't have colour coordinated carcasses for the German kitchen, all they offer is a quartz grey carcasse with a quartz grey edge. Does anyone know why the German kitchens do not offer colour coordinated carcasses? or if they do, which range? as Schuller won't do. Thanks!0

@audrey01 - If you are looking handleless European is the way to go. There is no comparison between Scheuller and Mereway.
With the exception of a couple of German companies most will supply kitchens with a plain interiors. I am surprised Schueller are offering only a plain grey edging. Most good German suppliers will offer visible sides to match the door and carcase edging to match door colour.
The reason Germans dont do colour coordinated carcases is that it restricts you to about 15 odd carcase colours and outside that range of 15 doors, the carcase bears no resemblance to the door and looks cheap. Keeping the carcase colour neutral allows the visible sides to be finished in a colour and finish to match the door.
Our suppliers offers colour and finished matched visibles sides for no additional cost. Additionally surround components such as plinths, panels, shelves etc are all available in the same finish as the door. Units with visible interiors such as glazed units have interiors to match the door/kitchen finish.
Hope that sheds some light on your question. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
There is an English company that surpasses the Scheuller.
They offer the same type handle rail system but the developed theirs themselves and IMO is better as offer 7 curves along with veneered rails if your having a veneer door or want a contrast to your painted door or painted to match your door or contrast again, some stunning stuff all made to measure and British and......less £'s0 -

I'm not having a dig here but am I missing here?, If its a bespoke kitchen then literally any curve can be made... If a company is limited to 7 curves they aren't bespoke manufacturers.....
I think there are far too many companies advertising as bespoke, individual, unique blah, blah, blah who clearly aren't.0 -

In terms of quality of cabinets German is second to none.
Regarding cabinets Hacker and Poggenpohl are a poorer cabinet than Howdens. On the kitchens I've seen they were 16mm carcases and the blum hinges/drawer runners were the most basic you can buy.
I can't comment on other German brands as I have no experience of them.On the negative side is you need to make sure that you see a specialist who can
give you good advise and design otherwise no point spending the money on German
if it looks the same as typical [STRIKE]shed[/STRIKE]German Poggenpohl and Hacker kitchen.

I'm guessing you are that "specialist".........
Am I right? website, contact details, PM you for info?...;)0 -
good spot leveller.
evokit - Let me know who your bespoke supplier is. I know some bespoke suppliers who will do whatever you want. You need to pay them whatever they want. 7 predetermined curves is not bespoke. We’ve had to remove your signature. I think you have this soooooooo wrong.
Only 7 curves are able as the handle is metal, so is harder to form. so on this range it is very bespoke in relation to others. Doors can be made to any size any colour, gloss matt, metallic veneer, exotic and so on, so yes you have missed.
On the normal doors (none metal handle rail) there is 106 standard radius offerings including handleless and as above.
you can create your own if you want to pay for it, but most wouldn't.
so IMP in kitchen terms that is very bespoke esp where everything can be made to size within the limitations of the material used.
Grain matching on any veneer is also bespoke, unique blah blah as every wood grain will be different in every kitchen
Even bespoke manufactures have limitations0
