HP Touchpad - not working - again

Hi
My 10" HP Touchpad is unwilling to fire up.
All I see is a circular swirl and then nothing.
I've not had much luck with this cheap bargain.
I've had to return it twice for a new battery.
Unfortunately I bought a matching charging cradle and wireless keyboard to go with it too, and a nice protective cover.
Any advice would be welcome.

Mine seems to throw random tantrums if not rebooted weekly. Have you tried forcing a reboot using the buttons combination?
The firesale price was quite a bargain at the time, so I'm going to forgive its little foibles for a bit longer before it gets retired

Once you get to that point, you can search for; How to install Android 4.2 and 4.3 Builds on the HP TouchPad0 -
Oh it's been running dual boot pretty much since CM became available (and a bunch of preware goodies on the WebOS side too).
And I'm not retiring it just yet

When I try the reboot buttons (depressing both at once) cause the swirl to appear for a bit as if it's thinking about doing something and then... blackness0

4.3? I thought I was cutting edge with 4.2!
Anyway, bigsteve, could be another battery problem, maybe. First thing to do is plug the Touchpad into your mains charger, micro USB, not the Touchstone wireless charger, and let it charge for 24 hrs.
Then, let's leave it plugged in, and hold the power and front buttons down for up to 30 seconds I think for a big reset (no data loss) and see if it boots.0 -
Hello Al,
Well i did use the charger and left it for 24 hours.
Initially there was a alternating "-" flashing.
then it comes up with the "hp" logo, shortly followed by the "hp" being encircled by a grey swirl...
Then the tablet lights up and the grey swirl reappears.
Then it loops round.
Not firing up.
This is despite me depressing the power ket and the middle key.
Any further advice would be appreciated.
Regards

Must admit I sold mine on Amazon marketplace and bought a Nexus 7 with the proceeds.
I got mine uber cheap too, as I worked for HP at the time

Bigsteve, you could try asking on the WebOS Nation forum, see if anyone there as an idea as to what might be wrong with your TP http://forums.webosnation.com/hp-touchpad/Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0

Try recovery mode - when turning on, hold the volume up button. If you're stuck in a loop and can't get it switched off, try the usual holding the power button for ages to make it reset, and get in there quickly with pressing and holding volume up.
Can you just confirm if you've got Android AND webOS installed or just webOS (standard)?0 -
Hi almillar
Not got Android, just webOs
I'll give it a go...0
