Ppi on defaulted credit cards

I'm new to this, so please bear with me.
I had credit cards which I held approximately between the years of 2000 to 2005. Some of these cards I defaulted and the balances have either been written off or not settled. I did pay ppi on some of these cards, can I still claim for mis selling of this insurance?

you can but they can use any redress first against amounts outstanding/written off if they want to.
If the amounts you left outstading or were written off were larger than the amounts that you paid in PPI, there's not much point in complaining.
You would be relying on them not checking that you owe them money.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
As taff says, they can use the redress against the debt you never repaid. Plus, you need to be careful you do not reactivate a debt. In these cases, you are better off letting sleeping dogs lie. By defaulting, you didnt pay the PPI. So, you have nothing to gain unless you believe the PPI amount is greater than the amount of the default.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
