Will get to the point although it might be a bit of a long rant (sorry!).
Utterly FURIOUS with Very. Ordered a fridge freezer on 9 September. Over £500. Said quite clearly on the page, delivery within 3 weeks. Was prepared to hang on that long without a fridge or freezer. Have been trying to track my order, but it's not been registered with the delivery company at all yet, despite the delivery date showing as 23 September (that would have been the last day within the 3 week period). I've called them most days; still nada.
Last Monday (I think), the delivery date change to 1 October. I have spoken with Very (who pass the buck), the delivery company (nowt happening there), and Beko (who moaned that Very shouldn't be saying 3 weeks cos they don't guarantee it).
I have just checked my phone today and it's saying 'Delivery on 11 OCTOBER'!
I am absolutely furious. Honestly, am surprised there's no steam out my ears. I suppose I have to ring the delivery company AGAIN who probably stil won't even have any record of my address/order.
I found a sort of complaints email on here which a Very representative had provided, but their reply to my email (which asked them to call Beko to sort out a date) was next to useless and gave NO help whatsoever.
When I last spoke to Beko (last week, prob Wed), they told me the !!!!!! were in stock within the next 2 days and one would be allocated to me and it should be with me within a week.
Is there anything I can do?!
I have been without a FF since 9 Sept when it died. There is only so many buckets of cold water in the garden instead of a fridge you can put up with. I am trying to keep calm but this has probably just pushed me over the edge.
They should just say 'delivery some time within the next few months depending on supplier (hopefully)'. Won't be using them again despite having a tonne of stuff to buy.
ARGHHHHHHHHHH!
Thanks, all.

The Very representative is fairly active on here and they will give their email address to you.
Realistically if the new stock comes in within 2 days and you'll get one of them there is very little that can be done about getting to you quicker and so it is more going to be a token compensation for your time. I am sure if you read your T&Cs delivery dates are estimated and not guaranteed0 -

Hi,
We are really sorry to hear of the delay in delivering your Fridge Freezer - we sincerely apologise for the inconveniences and disappointment this may have caused.
The dates provided at checkout are an estimate and we always try our upmost to deliver by this date. From the information you have provided it seems that we are waiting for the stock for the supplier before we can despatch this to you.
If you would like to drop an email to Network@VeryHQ.co.uk we will be more than happy to look in to this for you.
Many thanks,
Sara

It just peeved me that it does quite clearly state DELIVERY WITHIN 3 WEEKS on the order page. What's the point of that? I can understand if the date changes, but it really should be within that timescale or what's the point of saying it? I would have ordered elsewhere.
Sorted now - but this is the route it took...
Spoke with the delivery company this morning who, again, had no record of it. Then rung Beko who said they'd passed the order last Thursday and gave me another number. Called the delivery company on a different number Beko gave me (14 mins wait but had to hang up as moving desks, then hung on for 20 mins before getting through). They could trace it with the delivery number, and have now said they can deliver on Wed.
All this is from work where it's certainly not ideal. I must have made 30 phone calls in this regard!
I'd already found that email address on the MSE site following other complaints and sent an email last week (although thanks to the Very rep for replying on here and giving it again).
I gave details of what had happened so far and asked them to contact Beko or whoever to contact me regarding a delivery date (they were in by that time). Said I thought I'd done enough, plus it's hard to keep ringing from work. They replied with the message below which was not what I'd asked, and they were giving me wrong info (date had since changed to 1 Oct and then changed to 11 Oct today (or weekend)):
Thanks for your email and apologies for the delay of this item.
I have checked the tracking for this item and can see that the expected delivery date is showing as 23rd September. As this is coming directly from Beko we have been given this date as an estimated delivery date but do not have the facility to get an exact delivery date from them.
However; when the stock is available and ready to send out Beko will be in contact with you directly to arrange a suitable delivery date and time slot.
Anyway, it's hopefully resolved, but I wanted to let other people and the Very rep that I was NOT impressed, had to sort it all myself, and if I'd not rung today, it looks like I'd have been waiting until 11 Oct or later.

Cancel the order, go to a highstreet retailer and have it delivered next day0
-
It's coming Wed now - plus, Very were substantially cheaper at the time. It's now up for £600 even on Very, let alone other sites. Couldn't afford to cancel unfortunately. Was threatening to, but didn't make any difference, and I found out I was held to ransom with the price!

Can I ask... Why spend so much money on a fridge/freezer?0
-
Personal choice? Cos I've never had an American style one and feel very privileged I can now get one? Cos they're usually in the late hundreds or thousands? Cos I'm having a new kitchen fitted on Monday and the fridge freezer will now have to be split between the kitchen and dining space and will be the first thing you see? Cos my last one cost me £50 off eBay? Cos I work hard to earn it?
Plenty of people spend far more on them, same as they do cars, houses, cigarettes, children, schooling... Surely it's all relative?
I don't have debt apart from my mortgage, I don't have kids, I'm 40-odd and it suits me to bulk freezer buy cos I work very long hours.
Personally I thought it was a bloody good deal! Strange question, but Each to their own...
