This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Monday again already, the weekends seem to be flying past but am only in work for 3 days this week then get a nice long weekend.
Meal out with family was lovely and very cheap as always, and I was good and stayed low carb unlike DH who ate nan bread. What's the betting he loses weight and I don't!
Better get running so will leave with usual well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Good morning all, overcast here at the moment and no sign of the sunrise yet although the sky is getting slightly lighter.I have to take Dd to work this morning as her car's unwell and has to go to the garage today.
Then home to sort out some recipes for this Saturday
night. Its my eldest DDs belated 25th Silver wedding buffet. Her anniversary was on 13th August but this is the first week-end when everyone in the family is around to celebrate owing to holidays etc.Her DD Holly bless her is trying to organise it and she's roped me in to help.So I said I'd do some food etc.her brother Danny is away this week with his young lady at Centre Parcs and won't be home until Saturday morning. So Holly and I are doing the buffet.I woke this morning thinking about food, not great when you're on a diet like me:):)Still I'm sure it will all work out in the end Any ideas on low cal nibbles folks would be appreciated
Right time to get in the shower and have some breakfast Hope anyone who is down or poorly had a good night
Cheers chums

Morning all,
Chilly here this morning but meant to be a nice day. Off to work for me today need to drop little dog off at my mums and dd at the station first.
Its DD's first day at uni today, cant believe my baby is that old, good luck to her and all others starting today xx
Dinner tonight will be a fry up (grill up) I always want something quick after work and Monday is a particularly trying day with lovely but needy clients.
Got on well painting the bedroom yesterday, but the top coat on thw window sill has gone all funny, sort of puckered never seen it before, so that will have to come off and be done again !
Have good days all xx0 -

Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Foggy but dry here this morning.
DH up and off to work but not stupid early.
Lunch yesterday was roast leg of lamb, it was so delicious, cooked it long and slow, did roast potatoes, mash, carrots, green beans, broccolli. peas, yorkshires and gravy with it. Also made a cheesecake for dessert. Was so full didn't eat anything else for the rest of the day! There is a good bit of the lamb left, so will do a pot of gravy and reheat the meat in it in the oven and put sliced potatoes on the top, will do cauli/broc cheese and some other veg to go with it - this will be tomorrow night's dinner. Tonight may well be something easy - perhaps fish, chips and beans.
Wasn't particularly productive yesterday, went to see my parents as they had been away on a boat for 5 days - myself and bro and sisters bought the holiday as a gift for their Golden Wedding, they had a great time.
Back to work today for me, not doubt another manic Monday - well it does make the day go quicker.
Keep safe and well x

Morning :hello:
I didn't roast that chicken yesterday, I couldn't be bothered. In fact, I didn't do anything at allThe bride and groom popped round to pick up their marriage certificate, ring boxes, etc. and ended up staying for a couple of hours. Bride gave me the flowers from her table
A couple of others were given flowers too, but hers were the only ones with lilies so I felt honoured
They were in tall glasses at the wedding and all my vases are small so I had to cut them down. She thought they looked lovely and wants me to take a pic of them for her. She wants pics of everything, even the embarassing ones, too-dark ones, blurry ones...... Mr tru has emailed everyone asking for their photos (if they want to share) so he can burn them to discs.
I need to find out what's going on with the drains, they're still blocked. Neighbour one is still having to play leap-frog to get to his shed, neighbour two seems to have disappeared and she's the one who was supposed to be arranging someone to sort it out.
The whole house needs dusting and hoovering. I have loads of washing but don't want to make neighbour's problem any worse. I'll have to do at least two loads, I'm running out of towels and knickersThe chicken will go off if I don't cook it today, I'll get that in the oven and might bake some cakes too.

Morning all
Red Ruby, do you use pledge to clean your window sills, it can have that effect.
Hugs to Molly, Hilly, Bemuzed and anyone else in need.
Fish fed, hubby has a cuppa in bed, he's not working today as he worked Saturday and next Saturday.
Today I need to do some ironing and make a batch of ready meals for hubby's lunches.
Apart from that it's more crochet and more Harry Dresden.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Morning all,
Its DD's forst day at uni today, cant believe my baby is that old, good luck to her and all others starting today xx
My DD's too. I was awake with her at 1.30am as she had a huge panic attack:( Im not sure living at uni is going to be right for her but she can commute so hopefully it will get better.
Hester - are you back to work this week? Good luck if you are xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Hi all,
Off work today as it's BF's Great Uncle's funeral. Meeting his mum etc at the crematorium at 12.45 so plenty of time to get ready. Need to pop to Asdas for bread etc then down to Boots.
Had a lovely Sunday dinner yesterday - beef in the slow cooker with mash, steepy peas w/ vinegar and yorkshires :-) I have quite a bit of the beefy gravy left over, so I might make a big Yorkshire and do a tin of potatoes, a tin of peas and cover the lot in the gravy. BF has his band over tonight for a practice, so he'll sort out his own tea after they have gone.
Who watched Downton last night? I loved it! Can't wait for next Sunday!the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0
