                    hello
After a bit of advice, my son turns 16 next month, he currently receives low rate mobility.
I have received the paperwork for the money to go in his bank account which I have signed and sent back, but I am aware that child DLA stops at 16, I have had no paperwork to apply to PIP, and I have no clue what the process is.
will his money stop at 16, will it just transfer of to adult stuff, or do I have to reapply.
thanks

When does his current award end? Even though he's 16, if he still has time left on his current claim it will carry on until that date.
When it runs out he will be invited to apply for PIP.0 -
Things should continue as before until his award either ends or has to apply for PIP.
We had a DWP visit just before dd turned 16 , i was made her appointee , basically i do all the paperwork etc but she gets the money. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
You should have been sent forms to reapply for DLA. The transfer to PIP for those turning 16 only begins in October. I know several families at my son's special school who have reapplied for DLA and will be transferred to PIP at a later date. One mum was told it would be 2015-2017 before her daughter would go onto PIP.
