If you're planning to redecorate etc, then the time to install the CH is prior to that. It doesn't take more than a few days, but it is disruptive in terms of lifting floors etc.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • I grew up in a 3 bed tenement with a coal fire in the living room and a hot water bottle to keep me warm in my bedroom.

If it was really cold we sat in the kitchen with the gas oven on with the door open.

In the winter we made ice lollies on the inside windows sill.

Never knew what the temperature in the rooms were as we didn't have thermometers.
Getting forgetful, if you think I've asked this before I probably have. :rotfl:

Ive got 10 inches of loft insulation ,excellent DG, cavity wall insulation , 2 doors on the front of house (porch), same at back door with porch .......Newish boiler , no draughts ....I thought the house going down to about 13 degrees in the middle of winter at nights was pretty good without heating on........The house holds the heat very well indeed ...............

I read threads on here that a lot of peoples homes are not even 8 degrees during the day, wow thats just too cold ......So god knows what their night time temps drop to ...................
