Well I'm back.
Will be using this new diary to keep a track off all my spends and try and get rid of this £11,982 that I now owe.
Last time I paid the money off as soon as I got paid but this left me with no savings should anything go wrong so this time I am going to try and save the money in a separate account and then pay overpayments in £2000 bits whilst leaving my self a small emergency fund.
So here we go officially the snowball calculator says I have 51 months left to pay so want to try and reduce this

Hi, I've just joined the site but having spent many a night reading the forums.
I had previously just been ignoring my debt tbh but after finding out I was pregnant it's changed my attitude and made me face up to it and now I'm tackling it head on!
I have a similar amount of debt to you at around £12k ish - I get paid tomorrow so I'm going to make my monthly payments then do my signature.
Comforting to have people in the same position
From reading the diaries on here people clear a lot more than 12k so I'm sure we can both do it!0 -
Happy shiny new diary

Hi all.
I'm hoping to clear the debt in about 12-18 months when it should be 72 months.
I've done it before as you can see from my signature but last time I went without everything (maybe why i'm in this mess now) as soon as the debt was gone I went and bought the new car I wanted. So this time am going to pay it a bit slower but give myself a bit more breathing space along the way.0 -

Thanks everyone.
Yes I've done it before and will do it again just attacking it a bit differently this time. Will have to wait and see if it works. So far have £1200 saved up to pay towards the loan but need to save a bit for xmas (not sure how much yet but am working on it) and have booked a holiday for march. Not very MSE in someways but it will be my 30th bday and am taking 4 adults and a child for a week £180 so I didn't think that was bad and its the adults Christmas present. Just need money for food. we could have included a meal package but this was £400+ and i'm positive it wont cost that mush especially if I pick little bits up after christmas0 -
NSD yesterday and pay day today although got much less than was expecting but so did everyone as there was a problem in payroll so should get the rest next week hopefully.
Will be spending a bit tonight though for supplies for my night shifts this weekend, all budgeted for from weekly money though. Have a good weekend everyone:beer:0 -
