I live in a rented flat. We have been given permission to decorate if we so wish, when we moved we did a little painting just to suit out furniture more.
There's some rather ... 'Individual' wall paper in one of the rooms which looks completely odd with our stuff. I have been doing a little research and it seems there's such a thing as removable wall paper! Does anyone have any experience of this?
Obviously we could just get rid of it but don't want to as could be special to landlord/lady.
Thanks!
If they gave permission and didn't specify that you should leave it then you should be OK. I would just ask though to be safe.:D0 -
I would email her a picture of your new wallpaper (take a few examples in the shop) and ask her "Is it ok to replace the existing wallpaper with this?" and get her to agree the exact style.
I wouldn't recommend you go down the route of temporary - it probably won't work.0 -
All wallpaper is removable if I put it up usually removes itself in a few hoursI started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0

I remember adverts some years back on the telly where people put wallpaper up .... then removed it when moving .... it was a big brand name.

This is one of the links I got when I google 'reusable wallpaper uk' out of curiosity when reading your post:
http://www.decowall.co.uk/diy-self-stick-vinyl-wallpaper-43-c.asp
Don't have any idea if the site or paper is any good, but it seems quite cheap and they claim it can go over old paper without causing any issues. We are moving soon, so it's an interesting idea to give a try: it will be our first owned house and I don't trust myself with real wallpaper (OH would like us to get professionals in for everything, he must have a lucrative extra job I don't know about)Saving for a deposit. £5440 of £11000 saved so far:j0 -

I found this also , we are hoping to move soon and I will certainly give this stuff a try in the spare room first
its worth a try at those prices , I have also been told that Homebase sell it but not ever been to Homebase I haven't seen it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:what a stupid thing to say , of course I haven't seen it , sorry going senile in my old age :rotfl:0 -
I would just choose a (not too pricy) wallpaper you like and send a small sample with a letter to the LL,
"further to our discussion about redecorating, here is the paper we propose. Please drop me a letter to say if you are happy with this.
Meantime, thanks so much for being so understanding blah blah...."0 -
That wallpaper is really expensive, you think that you are buying a roll but you are not, what you are buying is 50cm x 1 metre, an expensive way to decorate.0

Could try hanging voile (with drawing pins/think tacks?) over it... or staple something onto it (lining paper/wallpaper)?
A screen? Large headboard if in a bedroom? Put the furniture in front of it? Maybe just leave the one wall papered and paint the rest plain (presuming it is all over)? You wouldn't notice it so much.

#What goes up must come down superfresco makes it easy it's by Graham and Brown! (to the tune of spinning wheel by Blood Sweat and Tears)
Is this the advert you were remembering?

You paste the wall and it sticks apparently not sure what mess the glue makes of the wall though.
I really must remember something useful sometime!I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0
