When a bill has meter readings that says "customer" that obviously means the customer has proided the reading. When it says "actual" does that always mean that e reading has been provided by a meter reader?

Thanks.

Thanks it should but what ... what?

To clarify, whether read or not do the suppliers think that "actual" means read by a meter reader?

    Thanks.

It should mean it has been read by a meter reader but it has been known for a meter reader to invent readings, the computer decides a customer read or estimate is an actual read or the system needs an actual read for regulatory reasons so decides the next read is an actual. Anything is possible with an incompetent energy regulator looking after incompetent companies with computer systems that are incompetently programmed.

The normal terms are (I thought) 'agent', 'customer' or 'estimate'?

Thanks. On my npower bill it only says either customer or actual. Probably because we give them a reading when they ask, so there has never been a need for an estimate.

    - mine has never had a meter reader to my knowledge in 20+ years
    - nor has my online account ever shown an 'estimated' status
    - because [I assume] I submit my own readings each month [ish]

I'm with SP, they use the word 'actual', actual in this case is me the customer.

I had an "actual" gas meter reading on a bill last year - on that date I was in Norway :D
