Question re balance transfer on Barclaycard Platinum

I'm certain this is a simple question to answer (to those in the know)

I have the above credit card, it came with a 14 months interest free BT and purchases. I know that I have to make at least the minimum payment each month to keep that offer.

My query: the IF period runs out beginning of July next year. The balance is currently £1400. Near the end of the IF period, can I transfer the remaining balance (whatever it may be) to a new card that offers 0% for x number of months? I know there will be a fee. But that is allowed, right? I know it's probably a silly question but I don't deal too much with CC's. I'd just like to know that I will have no issue transferring the outstanding balance to a new card, so I have more time to pay it off. (Although knowing me it will be paid off before then, as I don't like any debt...) With only the transfer fee to pay... I'm aware I could not get another Barclaycard. Many offer 20+ months anyway.

Ta!

  • Yes thats fine, people who have larger debt on credit cards tends to use that method to help they pay it off. You can transfer to a new 0% deal at any time, just worth keeping in mind that future acceptance is never guaranteed and you won't know what offers will be available at the time, so always best to pay off as much as you can

Thank You! I do plan on paying it off as promptly as possible, although it's nice to have the option to pay it off longer.
