please help with laptop

hi all I have a laptop: Samsung np-s3510-a01uk

it will not boot up gets to windows 7 logo during boot up then wait 5 mins restart and start again

I have tried the following to get it to boot,

load safe mode = fail
load safe mode with command prompt = fail
press F2 to bios everything is correct
press F4 during boot up = fail (disk read error)
press F8 repair computer = fail runs windows repair for a few hours saying searching for problems, then an other hour saying attempting to repair problems, then says windows can not automatically repair this computer.
go to see problems everything passed apart from one thing says O/S not present on drive E:/
download recovery solutions from Samsung and try to get it to boot off that = fail says no O/S

got advanced repair options and loaded command prompt

using Dir I searched the following
drive E:/ windows files are there,
drive D:/ image backup is there

on advanced options select recover computer using image back up. searches for a long time then says no image back up has been found. will not let me find one

please help I'm stuck
thanks

Can you boot it from the recovery CD?
Sounds like possible drive failure if you can't recover from the disk image.
Whip the drive out and see if you can access any files by putting it into a USB caddy? If you can, then the drive is still readable.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I don't have a recovery cd, its my moms laptop and one was never made :(
I have it in a usb caddy on another laptop all files are readable

Oh dear... so I'd backup the data while you can.
Then it's clearly not drive failure. Either the OS is corrupt, or a hardware issue is preventing it from booting to Windows.

  • Have attempted booting from usb on working laptop still will not boot I'm thinking corrupt os I'm doing system restore atm but it going very slow, however does seem more responsive in caddy and backed up data only photos she wants keeping :)

USB unlikely to work, as the ports won't function until you load the OS to a certain stage.

What has failed? Your attempts at an explanation are a bit confused. According to you, you were running a system restore whilst the HDD was in a caddy...or not :)

    Have you run chkdsk?
