    Whereas profit margin is profit as a percentage of selling price i.e. 75%

    I suppose it depends how you want to look at it :)

    Interesting how BBC Bitesize calculates it, though (which is the way I was originally attempting to work it out)
    Percentage Profit = (profit/cost price) x 100%
