I've even been known to let them scan one I carry round with me incase of 'emergencies' like this as sometimes they have no bags left.
I find its better to get charged for a bag or two that can't be supplied than have to have a supervisor called because you've fallen short a few pence of using your APG and the till throws a wobbly along with the cashier!

Thanks for that. I had forgotten bout those bags for life. Its handy for when you are a few pence short. I tend to get a chewing gum. Or in some cases, there are some nice SA's who will load some money onto a shopping card for you. So I get to my last APG and they say, that will be 9.05 and my apg is for 9.50 - I simply ask them to reload my christmas shopping card with 45.pence. and bingo.

Funny thing is I think the number changed, first time I looked at it it said 189, then I saw movement out of the corner of my eye and it was 191 :eek::eek::eek:

I only remembered at about 9.20, thought I might as well give it a go and it let me do it - order number 819!! Bit strange as they were apparently only giving 200 away... My sister did it a couple of minutes later and got order number 829, so might be worth a try if anyone thought they had missed out! I took a screenshot just in case they don't turn up
