Dishwasher just went bang, literally!

Options
My DW just went bang when it was about 3/4 of the way through its cycle. The RCD light on the wall plug has gone out and the dishwasher stopped. When I reset the RCD and switched the power back on, it made the same explosion noise.

Any ideas what this might be or is the DW dead? It's only two years old. Is the problem likely with the DW or the wall plug?

Many thanks, it was a really loud noise and I'm quite worried now!

The most likely cause is the heating element.

In my experience dishwashers are a pain to dismantle and work on, prob time to call in the people who do it for a living.

If I'd known I was going to be so thirsty this morning I'd have drunk more beer last night.
