Royal Mail - Post not arriving, any thoughts?

Hi everyone,
Recently we've been noticing that a fair bit of post which we know has been sent to us, hasn't arrived at our home.
The post that is missing includes a university confirmation letter, a Moonpig card, another birthday card (which contained a £20 cheque), a package from eBay, just a necklace so would have been in a padded envelope, a letter from my workplace containing my P45, a package containing expensive medication, which was sent in an A4 padded envelope and probably others, but thats just what I can think of!
Now while I accept we probably don't have a leg to stand on regarding them as they weren't tracked/signed for packages, does anyone have any idea on where we stand/what we can do?
I accept that some post will always go missing, it does seem to be ALOT of stuff going missing, and its interesting that it only seems to be IMPORTANT stuff, if you know what I mean. Regular letters are arriving fine, and even quicker than usual I'd say.
Additional info; I know all of the things above have been dispatched as the medication came from a relative, the necklace was an ebay buy which I was told of the dispatch, the uni one I can see on my online account has been sent, same with the Moonpig card, the card with the cheque was from my nan and she told us when she'd posted, and the P45 letter I've rang up about not having turned up, only to be told by my old workplace it was sent two weeks ago!
Also its been a 21st in my house so fairly obvious, with balloons on the front and posters..so could have suggested to the postman that there were interesting letters arriving!

Even if the items weren't sent tracked, presumably the senders obtained proof of postage at the post office where they sent the goods? If yoes, then get them to photograph and email the proofs of postage to you, then send them to the Royal Mail, together with any other proof of sending you may have, i.e. printouts from your online account clearly showing the receiving address, and make a claim for compensation. It sounds like theft to me.0

Similar address to yours they could be going to? I regularly get letters for the same number house in the next street.
As a starting point raise a complaint with Royal Mail. They can at least then get the sorting office to take a bit more care. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
When this sort of thing happens, you have to suspect the postie. I have had this experience twice in my life. Mail goes missing and months later, the postman's house is raided after which stuff you have been missing for months turns up.
I suggest you send yourself a few 'interesting' items, such as a birthday card with a sheet of paper the size of a £20 note, an old diary, a bar of soap in a padded envelope. Post them from a nearby town and get proof of postage. If they don't turn up, take your evidence to Royal Mail as a complaint. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -
You need to report it to Royal Mail, postman that lived down the road from us was found with 4500 undelivered letters etc. He had had a breakdown and still did the rounds but didn't deliver anything for a few months! I also had a thieving postman once who was just a knacker but its not always the case, you won't know unless it gets investigated.0

Report it, Royal Mail cannot investigate if they do not know about it!0

I would contact Royal Mail asap. We have had problems and have found our postman a) doesn't pay attention and b) if he has leaflets he delivers to every house he ends up putting post in with leaflets so if he's had several houses without post the next house's post gets delivered to the previous house and we've had out post delivered 4 or 5 doors.
But you need to contact them so they can investigate.0
