I read about this in the Telegraph but not sure whether it should be on the Going Out Board or the Grabbit Board so please feel free to move.

For one day only, on Wednesday 25 September, Wetherspoons are reducing their prices by 7.5% in support of Tax Parity Day. Also Punch Taverns, Pizza Hut and Subway.

Would someone be able to post a link, please (I'm allowed to but it would take me ages to work out how to do it!)

The day before the last budget Wetherspoons put all their prices up, with beer/lager going up by an average of 20p a pint.

The following day Osborne cut beer tax by 1p a pint.

I would have thought it obvious but just for you I`ll explain.

They can`t moan about paying tax when they can jack their prices up any amount they feel like at least twice a year.

Furthermore since the 2008 downturn their share price has nearly doubled.
So despite being hammered for tax (they say) the company is worth twice as much.

Not just Witherspoons but its claimed up to 15,000 places will take part in tax parity day so it may be worth a Mod changing the tread title to "7.5% off lots of pubs/food outlets etc Weds 25/9" or something similar as its not just Witherspoons.

Apparently supported by loads of independents too.

No central searchable list that I can find so its a case of you checking which venues near you are doing it which is a bit of a pain.
Hi there! We’ve had to remove your signature. It was so good we removed it because we cannot think of one so good as you had and need to protect others from seeing such a great signature.

When i walking through our shopping centre last week i saw the sign outside Weatherspoons about this, i crossed to check it out 'cos i thought it was 75% off. I couldn't see 'the dot' from the other side of the road.
