Electrical fuse upgrade

Hi,
We're getting our newly bought house rewired (after reading the 'get your electrics checked' thread!) but one (out of 5) of the electricians that quoted checked the fuse and told us it was 60 amp so we shouldn't really have two electric showers and a part electric cooker running off it. He said to contact our provider about an upgrade but they didn't seem to know what I meant.
Can anyone give me further info (possible cost preferably) and whether this sounds correct as only one person mentioned it? Also, does it only apply if we use all three things at once or..?
Thanks

I'd be concerned that 4 out of 5 completely missed the fact that you are on an old 60A supply when they inspected. No free lunch, and no free laptop
