merely average cedit score, but want a bank account with an overdraft

Accept a lower overdraft and keep a credit card available for emergencies.0

Odds are, if ypur own bank wont give you it noone else will. As above, if your not using it then it will be taken from you. £3650 is a huge overdraft and a potential problem for the bank. If your on an average salary of £25,000 then your taking home £1600ish, so that OD is more than double a monthly salary. Obviously you may be on more, but if you are then you shouldnt really need a huge OD.
Get a CC with a bigger limit if needs much. The bank is being responsible and removing access to credit that your dont need (in their eyes) and never use.0
