HELP! - Asda Credit card declined

I have had the money back Asda Credit card since February this year and it has all worked so smoothly. I have even managed to receive £70 cashback in that time.

Yesterday, however, my OH and I tried to use our cards in a local Asda but they were both declined. I thought it was a glitch and didn't think anything of it. Today it has happened again in another store and when I tried to phone the 24/7 helpline and lost/stolen line it just says the 'Fraud department is closed' and to leave a message on the answer machine. The general Customer Services has the same response.

I checked this account on-line on Thursday and all was in order. I am refused access to my account online. Does anyone know if there are any issues with this credit card issuer. The only slightly out of the ordinary thing is that my statement which usually arrives on 15th of the month didn't arrive until the 20th.

I am hoping that it is just a glitch, however, I can't contact anyone at the company to find out what the problem is.

Does anyone have any knowledge or similar experiences.

I pay the balance off every month and have a healthy credit balance available.:(

Sorry. Haven't come across a problem.

OH used his yesterday buying petrol at independent garage and I used mine today online with Amazon.

Will be doing weekly shop at Asda tomorrow, so will see how that goes.

That sounds to me as though they may have picked up on some unusual activity on the account. The card being declined and not being able to access online is too much of a coincidence, just wait until their fraud department are open and give them a call
