Accomodation in Ottawa, Canada

I am going on a 7 day trip to Ottawa and would like to know if anyone here knows a reputable and reasonable hotel to stay near the city. Also, I need Canadian dollars and need to know if its best obtaining them here in the UK or over there. I don't think their cashpoints take UK cards.

I lived in Ottawa for a few years and Visa Delta is defintely accepted in their ATMs but bear in mind that there will be a $1.50 charge on top of your own card company's charges.

We stayed a few weeks in Les Suites which is very central and, IIRC, not too expensive. Ottawa is not that big, and has great public transport, so you could stay anywhere really but you would want to avoid the Vanier area of Montreal Road as it's where the ladies of the night hang out.
