Foreign Currency Exchange (not travel money exchange)

Hi to all,
I.m looking for some help and advice and maybe some links with my first post.
My wife and I live in Malta having moved over a couple of years ago, and we really enjoy our new life here.
At present I transfer Sterling from my UK HSBC accounts over to my Maltese HSBC Sterling account via HSBC's Global banking system on a monthly basis, the amount varies due to our different monthly requirements. (normally in the range of £1200 - £2000)
I then withdraw the Sterling from my Maltese account to enable me to exchange to Euro's at the local shops, which give a better exchange rate than the bank (one in particular tends to gives slightly more than the rest).
Due to my age and health problems, I,m beginning to find it a bit tiresome queueing at the bank (queues can be absolutely horrendous here) and then having to go to the local shops to carry out the exchange to Euro's.
So I have been looking into the possibility of getting my Sterling exchanged directly in the UK. I have been led to believe that with certain UK Foreign Currency Exchange companies you can make a regular monthly input and they will exchange your money at normally better than bank rates and then actually transfer the now Euro's to a foreign Euro account. As both my wife and I have individual Euro accounts in Malta I think this scenario would be ideal for us, as it would save us a lot of time and effort and may give us a few extra Euro's a month.
My questions are these,
Is there anywhere on this site that deals with this sort of subject, (I can find info about travel money OK), if so could someone point me to a link.
Has anybody had any dealings with any of these Currency Exchange companies on a long term basis and what has been your experiences with them? (good or bad), recommendations would be gratefully recieved.
Is there such a thing as a comparison site for these types of companies, if so would be grateful of any links (did try googling but kept coming up with travel money type companies).
Thanks in advance for any comments and help.

Hi Exfall,
If you use an international money transfer specialist, their rate will always be better than what banks offer and if you are doing regular transfers they will usually offer special rates. Ensure the company you use is well established, FCA Authorised etc...0 -
cheers,
thanks for the info.0
