A little help on seperate booking

We have recently returned from Majorca and are now planning on going back in may 22-29th 2014. We booked through TR in march and for my husband, myself and 2 children we paid £1700 with baggage, transfers, flights and accommodation. We are planning on returning to the same hotel and have decided to book direct through them as its working out at £519 for the week for 4, this time just me, my mum and 2 girls are going. We have looked at flights through monarch and its working out at about £235 each for flight only, is there a chance this will come down in price or is there other cheaper sights, ive checked sky scanner and bravofly. Never booked separate before, my dad booked the holiday through TR as him and mum came with us. Looking at booking up very soon.

    Check www.skyscanner.net for your flights.

From my preferred airport it's £183 for your dates, but I'd expect to pay less than that nearer the time (even though it spans Spring Bank). As to exactly when to book, that's somewhat of a guessing game. Best to set yourself an acceptable price and then buy when you see it.

We do exactly the same each year and compared to going through a company it works out roughly the same as the companies flights are subsidized (based on flying from the same airport). We do it this way as the hotel let us stay in larger and nicer accomadation than if we booked through the company. Also they let us go SC, when company guests have only all inclusive to choose.

Do you have other options apart from Monarch? I've never found them to be the cheapest option on flight and baggage prices to be honest.

Try skyscanner, and try several departure airports (if you have more than one say within an couple hours-ish drive of home)
  • To be honest, you're looking a bit too early.

https://www.skyscanner.net and https://www.trivago.co.uk are your friends here.

Are you leaving from Manchester, Sheffield or Birmingham?

We flew with monarch this time so was looking through them again, a lot I have seen are 1 stop and 10hrs  not a chance when it only takes 2.5hrs. £230 is the cheapest ive found each person so far.

Ive looked through trivago, for the 4 of us its £608 so more expensive than booking direct through the hotel for the same room.

    £207 pp

    Or £186 from Manchester

To be honest though, I think you're looking too early. Ryanair and Norwegian (generally the 2 cheapest) haven't released their flights that far yet.

Ok thanks, think with the hotel being so cheap we was wanting to get it booked, £518.67 for 4 all inclusive is a bargain and not sure if that will change at all.

Is it fully refundable? If so, I would book it now and wait for the cheaper flights to come out.
