Accident in rented car

Need some advice please!
I am currently driving a rental car (Peugeot 107) as mine has been overheating. Needed to get to work as a priority so a rental was the only way to go as my family all need their cars.
I paid Budget £600 as an excess/deposit on Thursday and the car is due back in on Tuesday.
I've just driven to work, and had an accident - I was on the roundabout having left the motorway when a car came up the slip road from the other direction, he didn't look and he didn't slow down, and I hit the side of his car... Not very fast mind you as I slammed the brakes on the minute I realised he wasn't stopping. I maybe hit him at 15mph but couldn't be sure.
He admitted liability immediately, said he thought it was a gyratory system and even said he would pay for the damage. The bumper and wing are scuffed and the wing has a small dent also. I have his name, address, phone number and the reg of the car, he has the same details from me.
My questions at the moment are who do I tell and in which order? Will the rental company be able to tell me how much of my deposit I will lose? If necessary I will pay for a new bumper and wing and get them fitted myself as it will be much cheaper than losing £600, especially as the man said he would pay. Do I have to tell my insurance if we settle this without them?
Thank you in advance for any help.

You need to tell the hire car or their insurers immediately.
They won't be happy to let you repair it yourself.
You will need to inform your own insurer (and others you go to for quotes in the future)
Don't rely on the third party's admission at the scene!
You may have to pay all the excess now, and reclaim it off the third party, but take advice from the insurer involved.0 -
As above, I'm afraid
The other party will almost certainly deny liability once the cold light of day hits them, plan for that.Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -
You cant get the car repaired yourself on the cheap LOL.
I expect the parts and labour will easily top £600 if you hit a car at 15mph, I would expect damage behind the bumper.
I would run the number plate into Askmid to confirm the other driver was insured.
