Travellers Cheques.

I have an M&S credit card, which enables me to buy travellers cheques at a better than their standard rate. It is treated as a purchase, so there is no cash advance fees or interest, provided I pay my card off in full, as I do each month, with purchases.

However, the travellers cheques (which will be in US dollars), are not for me, but are for my mate and I am not going on the holiday/

Does anyone know, if I can do this?

I'm thinking, that the cheques may be issued in my name and when changing them, they will want to see indentity matching the name on the cheques. Or that M&S won't issue the cheques against my card and put them in my mates name (if a name is attached to them).

Or is their no name/details, attached to the travellers cheques, so it doesn't matter, if I give them to someone else?

I've posted in the credit card section as well, just to cover all bases.

Thanks

You don't have to sign tcqs when you buy them but they are not insured if they are lost or stolen. Can't you take the other person with you when you go to buy them then they could sign for them there and then.

As per my reply there, I thought M&S Travel Money had stopped issuing TCs back in May of this year?
