Question: what is "Third Party Telephony Charge"?

For most of 2013 I've had problems with nPower. I've been overcharged three times now. And now I've been charged for "Third Party Telephony Charge" of £10.50.

Question: what is "Third Party Telephony Charge"?

  • Perhaps this other thread on MSE might help - it looks like some form of admin charge?

If not, have you tried contacting nPower to ask them what it's actually for?
  • Have you had a direct debit returned, ie "bounced" I think that might be it.

The distribution etc costs are covered by the standing charge.

    Hello,

The charge you are referring to is when you have an overdue account that has been passed to our collection agencies and they have been instructed to call you to arrange collection of the overdue amount.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks

    Carmel :)

  • Well I moved house 7 weeks ago, informed NPower I was moving and where to and took a reading the day I moved.
I was billed up to that date. I have just received a bill from them with that bill, a £10.50 telephony charge and a standing charge for the period to the end of the month (2 weeks) after I had moved out.
I shall not be paying a charge for non communication from either NPower or a collection agent nor shall I be paying any extra charges for not living in a property!!
