Evening folks, im needing to get to the part of Broad Street where it crosses the old canal line. Was wondering if anyone could suggest where to park (easy to get too). Looked on the net and theres about 5 or 6 at the end of Broad Street where the junction with Islington Row Middleway is.

  • There are two carparks close to Gas Street Basin. (10 minuites walk)

    Q-Park 1 Brunswick St, City Centre B1 2JF (Expensive)

    EuroCarParks 60 Bishopgates St, B15 1DB

what time are you going, and how long will you be there. Street parking is available for free after 6pm, if not I use Town Hall car park and walk the 5 minute walk under the Queensway and up Halliday Street. It's also pretty simple to get in to if you come in off the M6...

I agree with Brunswick street car park, it would be 1st choice, secure car parking with cctv and security patrol, there is one on Ladywood Middleway too less expensive but a similar walk to Bishopgates St (and unless things have changed I would not recommend using that one) pay and display with cars having been illegally accessed.
Finally slightly in the opposite direction but within the canal basin is the car park in the mailbox, expensive again but secure.

The OP is in Glouscestershire (I think) and I would imagine travel M5 north and exit at J3 to enter Birmingham central.

Same here, I tend to park by Colmore Row for free and walk through. It's great for when there's something on at the NIA as you don't get stuck in all the traffic round the back.

Yes my apologies I'd forgotten to say what direction I was coming from, yes from the M5 and then leave at J3.

Id need to be there for 1pm and was looking at starting off around 9 30/10 am. Could be 2 or 3 hours I might be there for.

Have just looked at the train times and cheapest ticket is £11 and journey time is roughly the same.

    Thanks for the replies.

As they say, let the train take the strain, Gloucester itself is an hour's drive away.

Ignore me then, the Town Hall car park would involve you having to fight your way down Broad Street!

The train is a good shout at £11, New Street Station is a 15 minute walk from Gas Street Basin
