Kids Electric Car Course

Just wondered if anyone knew of any really good kids electric car tracks in the UK? We are in the north of England but would be prepared to travel to get to a really good attraction. This is for a birthday treat for my son who is almost 7 and is absolutely obsessed with cars.
I have been looking at the driving school at Alton Towers which looks quite good but just wondered if anybody know of anywhere similar or better?
Many thanks for any replies.

Sorry - don't know of any specific ones, but I think that if your son is really car obsessed, he'd find Driving School a let down. It's suitable from 4 years up, but I'd say anyone over 6ish would find it slow and boring. Mine certainly did. Add to that short ride time, very slow queue line and cars that seem no quicker than the sort you can get in Argos then it all adds up to a bit of a disappointment.
Alton Towers is great, so if you are going anyway then it's worth a go, but if you are going because of Driving School, I'd recommend somewhere else.0 -
See whats at Oulton Park sometimes they have a decent day or deals and your son could possibly sit in and be driven in a decent car. hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

I agree that driving school seams to be aimed at a lower age group....
what about go karting instead? my car obsessed daughter loved it for her birthday party... there was a height restriction though so you need to check it out...
cars, speed, corners, skidding what more can a girl want for her 7th birthday:eek:

Many thanks for taking the time to reply. Really interesting to hear your comments about driving school - I did wonder if it might be a bit basic - I think we'll give it a miss.
Will check out Oulton Park - great suggestion.
Most karting available locally I think has a minimum age of 8 but I will double check.
Thanks again0 -
round here i think it might be 8 too but the height restriction is more important than the age...0
