Xhose

Has anyone bought one of those expanding hoses and been happy with it?

I bought one from an ebay seller and it purported to be an Xhose but the packaging was just a polythene bag with a single page instruction leaflet.

After it burst and I got my money back I decided to take it apart and the fabric layer was only one layer, yet, when you suffer from sleeplessness and flick through all the selly channels, they all go on about how there are 2 layers of fabric and how the inner hose has compartments.

Not the Xhose I got.

One layer of fabric and the inner hose was just a, I think, a neoprene tube.

Definitely fake.

So are they all like that?

My mum bought one for herself, then her neighbour saw it and wanted one and then a friend did the same.

I think she's had four or five go through her hands now (ordered for other people, like elderly freinds who aren't well up on TV shopping channels!).

She absolutely raves about it. Loves that it's light when it's empty and that it shrinks back as you empty it out so it's not bulky or heavy to store.

I think she got hers from Ideal World. I don't use them myself after having problems with two different items I'd bought from them but she's had no issues. I recall the last one she ordered for a friend came in a large grey heavy duty polythene bag with four or five extra attachments and quite a large instruction book.

She's never mentioned any problems with leaking or anything else and she uses the hose every day.

Not sure of the other queries, but the YT review here has packaging similar to what you describe:

"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

It seems that as soon as a product gets lots of airings on these infernal shopping channels inferior quality lookalikes appear to take advantage of the publicity.

That looks exactly what I got, even the slight kink near the end, which is where it first sprung a leak.

I bought one from a ebay seller in China, it was rubbish, lasted 2 days before it sprung a leak.
