Used car bought in england by n. Ireland resident
My home address is in Northern Ireland, but I intend to live in England for few months, I am looking for some cheap car to use go run about while I'm here.
My question is, how do I get to tax the car? My license is issued by DVANI, can I register the car in England using my N. Ireland address or the flat I am staying in now in England? If this is the case, should I also change my home address in my driving license? I should not be because N Ireland is my permanent address.
Please help, I cant afford to drive the car to Northern Ireland and then back again to England just to tax it. Or can I just do all the paper work in N Ireland while the car is in England, then just bring the tax disc with me?
Confuse, confuse, confuse!:(:(:(

We always get the garage to tax the car for us, then when we bring it home we wait till it needs re taxing before registering it in NI
We buy a lot of cars in England0 -
Don't worry over this. Get the V5C using your English address (as you will have it insured there too) and no problems whatsoever. It's got nothing to do with where you got your licence, leave that alone as it is just a way of the authorities reliably getting ahold of you.0
