BPS Access Solutions. Are they reliable ??

Options
Ordered a scaffold tower from them on Mon. 16th Sept. They guarantee next day delivery. I am still waiting for my item, today, Thursday,19th.

Who has had dealings with them ? Can they be trusted ?

I purchased a "LOYAL" scaffold from them and I can't fault the service. The quality is pretty good. They fit together a treat, I'm use to having to take a hammer to the old style scaffolds to get them apart.

Like most companies they have a sale on 365 days a year..If I remember correctly mine took 3 days to arrive.I have phoned them recently for a quote on some extra parts for mine and they seem on the ball to me.
  • Thanks for that leveller2911. Their site is very professional, and I have googled them this afternoon, and there is not one complaint lodged against them. It is all praise for quick delivery, etc.
I am beginning to suspect that the problem lies with the freight carrier.
  • All's well that ends well, as they say. The tower arrived this morning, 2 days late, and it certainly looks as though the problem has been with the freight firm, rather than BPS. And as leveller2911 says about his item, the one I have bought is also of good quality and substantial.
  • Beware "Free No Quibble, Lifetime Guarantee" worthless.
I have been in email correspondence with Matt (in customer service), over a failed manufactured plastic part "Hook at the end of operating pole" for a Concertina Loft Ladder (ceiling heights up to 9'). The hook has fractured at the base of the cup. This part will only cost BPS Access Solutions Ltd pennies but Matt is insisting that it is down to "user error" not under No Quibble, Lifetime Guarantee and the part will cost me £19.99! to replace. That was before I submitted further evidence, a photo showing where it had failed (Plastic can go brittle). So now I am left with great difficulty retrieving a very expensive £199.99 Loft Ladder, purchased March 2010. We probably only access the loft about 12 times a year and the hook and pole have only been used for the purpose for which they were intended.
Anyone know of a helpful Loft Ladder company with good PR where I can Purchase a plastic Hook?

  • Thanks leveller2911 for your reply. That will do the job. I have found plenty of hooks on eBay all metal construction and around the £7 mark including postage at least they will not break; the ladder itself is very well constructed.
Just to put things into perspective. The same day Friday, I also emailed a well known British toilet seat company, asked if I could purchase just the left hand Antique Gold PVD Soft Close Hinge because it had failed, the lid dropped like a stone, this was outside the 12 month guarantee not with a "Free No Quibble, Lifetime Guarantee” the pair cost me at the time of purchase £18.60 extra on top of the price of the seat. I had an email reply within hours they will pop a replacement pair in the post free of charge, that’s what you call good PR.
I will definitely purchase products from that company again.
  • I bought an extending ladder from BPS. It had a manufacturing fault but it was exchanged the next day with no quibble. They seem an excellent company.
    Je suis sabot...
  • I ordered 2 ladders for an urgent job, they cost a lot and next day guaranteed delivery was charged (included in the price as always).

I called next day to their premium line number (probably £3.00 per minute) and was immediately put on hold, would have been there probably 30 minutes at their extortionate premium rate charge (probably £3.00 per minute) if I was not wise to this. I choose to leave a message for someone to call back. This was at 5pm and they state they are open till 8pm. Of course I did not hear back from them. Needless to say the ladders did not turn up for another 3 days at which time I had lost the work. AVOID THIS COMPANY

If you had waited they probably would have answered.
£3.00 per minute?. You're probably wrong.

    0871 call costs

From BT lines, 0871 number call costs vary but should not be more than around 5p per minute. Calls made using other operators or mobile phones usually cost more.
Calls to 0871 numbers are not normally included in talk plans or free call allowances.
    Calling fromTypical cost Landline11p - 15p per minute Mobile phone35p - 40p per minute

  • i ORDERED AN EXTENTION LADDER FROM THEM, TO BE DELIVERED TOMORROW. aT 15.43 i RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM THEM SAYING THEY ARE OUT OF STOCK. tHIS OBVIOUSLY TOO LATE FOR ME TO ORDER ONE FROM ANOTHER COMPANY TO ARRIVE HERE TOMORROW, AND THEIR LAST DELIVERY WENT OUT AT 3PM. WHEN I ASKED WHY THEY TOOK THE WHOLE DAY TO EMAIL ME, they had no answer I asked why they did not call seeing as they had my mobile no: Their excuse was they could not phone everyone. So, my question is, is this good service or pathetic. The earliest they hoped to have my ladder delivered was in two weeks time. So I just lose the contract because I cannot do the work then. They care nothing at all about my loss, I just had to take their solution or have my money paid back. So they said they would send my next choice through to be here by Wednesday morning. If it is not here, I shall go to see my lawyers. Here are enough people who have similar complaints to make a case of this.
