nightmare with benson for beds

I ordered a bed which wouldn’t fit up my stairs (completely my stupid fault, I accept that!) instead of just charging me a standard fee or better still, another delivery fee they have charged me 20% of my order which is over £200!
When they delivered my new bed the driver caused a massive scratch on my wall – which also damaged the plaster work. He then took a photo of the damage (which we presumed meant he accepted liability) and now they are saying they have know nothing about it and Benson are just taking the drivers word for it!
This company is just awful when it comes to customerservice.

Probably a restocking fee. It has likely cost Bensons quite a bit to process your order and have the bed ordered from the factory. They'll now have a spare bed which they'll have to sell as a shop-floor item.
It wasn't really their fault that the bed you ordered couldn't be carried into the room of your choice.
The damage to your wall is unacceptable and should be paid for, but I imagine it was caused whilst trying to get your bed up the stairs. Perhaps the delivery people should have checked the path to take to your chosen room before trying to lift the bed up the stairs?Everyone is entitled to my opinion!0
