Quiet hotel in Manchester

We are going for a weekend in Manchester in October by train and want a central hotel but on a quiet/side street. All the ones I have looked at seem to be on main roads or by the station so suffer from noise.

I would be grateful for any recommendations up to £130 ish per night.

Thanks

  • We stayed in the Raddison Blu Edwardian back in March. It is close enough to the main city centre attractions but is not on what I would consider to be on a main throughfare through the city (although it might look a main route on the maps, there wasn't a particularly large amount of traffic passing by).

That would perhaps provide you with the right compromise - noise certainly didn't strike me as a problem.

The Novotel on Portland Street has a number of rooms which face out onto the back streets.

The Place is near the station and up a side street. No street or rail noise but sometimes can be noisy from other guests

stay in the Hilton. You're so high up that you can't hear the traffic. Other options that are quiet are the "Crown Plaza" and the "lowry"

I stayed at the Park Inn (Radisson) recently. We were facing the main road but there was no noise. It's about a 10 min walk to the Printworks area from there
  • Crown Plaza near Shudehill, it's central for the shops etc.. near the tram and bus stop (Shudehill) plus the MEN Arena and Victoria Station are a short walk away. Piccadilly train station is close enough as well, a short taxi ride.

It is also close for the Printworks!

Stayed there a few times, always quiet and nice rooms!
